Life is Strange: Double Exposure is the most recent entry in the Life is Strange franchise, a supernatural murder mystery with heavy emphasis on characters & story.
I worked primarily on developing new gameplay systems for the game's timeline-switching mechanic, working closely with the design team to iterate. These gameplay systems would have to communicate with others, both stock Unreal & proprietary in order to create seamless game transitions.
The longest system I worked on was a collision system to manage dynamic changes to the environment. In a prototyping stage such a system is easy to manage especially using Unreal's tools, but the sprawling nature of a fully-fledged game complicated the implementation at every turn. Making a slight change could break parts of the game elsewhere, and being aware and monitoring risks became a crucial part of the job. I also gave assistance to various teams such as UI and AI when needed.
